Welcome to our beautifully restored Moorish villa, situated on the edge of El Golco, a quiet village in La Alpujarra. This stunning region of Andalucia, in the province of Granada, boasts the cleanest mountain air in Europe.
Nestling into the foothills of the Sierra Nevada, La Alpujarra is famous for its white-washed villages, olive and almond groves and a traditional, rural way of life.
The main house has three bedrooms, comfortably sleeping 6 adults or a family with children (cot and high chair included). We have recently renovated the basement into a stylish double en-suite bedroom with kitchen diner, to provide total self-catering accomodation for up to 8 people if required.
The vine-covered garden provides both welcome shade and an abundance of fruit in the long, hot summer days. At night, relax on the covered terrace (azotea) or laze in front of a log burning fire on colder nights.
El Golco is situated on the GR7 long distance footpath, between Mecina Bombaron (15 minutes walk) and Cadiar, our nearby town with all amenities. There are two large swimming pools within ten minutes drive of our house (see our Swimming feature on the Activities Page).
Granada with its famous Alhambra, is a 1.5 hour drive and The Mediterranean is only 45 mins away by car. The house is within 3 hours drive of three major Spanish Airports served by cheap flights from the UK; Granada, Malaga and Almeria, making it easily accessible for an unforgettable week's self-catering holiday in Spain.
